The Dangerous Dogs Act can be confusing and worrying, particularly if you have been contacted by the police, local authority or another organisation about your dog.
Dog World can offer practical guidance and help you understand what is happening, what questions you should be asking and where appropriate, signpost you towards specialist professional advice.
If you are asked to sign anything relating to your dog, do not feel pressured into signing immediately. You are entitled to understand exactly what you are being asked to sign and to seek advice before making that decision. Asking for time to obtain advice should not in itself be treated as refusing to cooperate.
This can be particularly important where a document contains conditions or agreements affecting how your dog may be kept or managed.
Every case is different, so we would much rather you contact us early than make an important decision without understanding its implications.
